Getting Put on a Watchlist:
It’s not hard getting put on a watchlist, despite what anyone may tell you.
The US government is so paranoid that you can get put on a watchlist for almost anything. You have to understand that getting put on one can happen due to various actions that a machine-learning algorithm calculates as being outside the norm.
You could get put on a watchlist for anything from being openly and verbally opposed to the government, to making memes against capitalism or the wealthy; I’m not kidding. You can get put on the watchlist especially if you join organizations the US regards as extremist or terrorist. Such as the Socialist Party, Communist Party, Anarchist collectives, Nazi Party, the KKK, etc. Because the US treats all forms of anti-establishmentism as the same, regardless of ideology, you’ll just get targeted more for being far-left.
In most cases, a watchlist isn’t that serious. It just means “heightened monitoring.” It only get’s serious depending on your level of influence & engagement in real world politics. They want to make sure you are just a disgruntled civilian, and not becoming increasingly radicalized and moving beyond verbal frustrations.
I would greatly appreciate if you become a paid subscriber, as this work does take a lot of my time and I want to provide more for my followers.
From the Watchlist to the Blacklist:
The US doesn’t have a blacklist, at least not a known one. I simply use this term to specify the increase in seriousness.
Someone goes from being a verbally upset leftist, to a communist involved in a communist party, climbing ranks and building a reputation and a laundry list of skills that improves propaganda capabilities and organizing capabilities. This combination of changes, specified skills for agitation or efficiency, and increased radicalization increases federal attention - and then some shady events begin to happen. Not in this exact order, but closely enough.
-Increased Police Stops:
The more politically active you become in a Communist or Socialist organization, or increased involvement in your community, the more frequent police will stop you for either a legitimate reason, or a fake one. They will ask more questions than usual (outside the basic who are you, where are you going, etc.). This is to collect data and find out your political objectives, keeping track of you and what you are involved with.
-Every Cop Knows You:
After a certain amount of reputation and police stops within your region, word will spread and you’ll soon have every cop, including ones you’ve never met, knowing about you, your activities and your family.
-Gangstalking:
Gangstalking is the phenomenon of random, unknown people stalking you in a group. These people are unknown, they could be a gang, political rivals, or federal agents.
I must stress that only when your political work begins to influence tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands, or millions, or you become a high and well established leader within an organization, will gangstalking begin with or without your knowledge.
What determines stalking as gang stalking? When it is repetitive & consistent, and done by a group on random occassions. Also when it’s done with the intent to stalk but not necessarily cause damage or harm, it can happen, but not all the time. The main objective is to collect data on you and make you feel scared or unsafe.
Gangstalking on Communists & Socialists can be such as:
Random black vehicles with dark windows sitting in front of your house or driveway at night.
People taking pictures of your house, especially at night.
People following you to or from your home until you get into a public or lit area to get away from them.
All black vehicles circling the block and passing by you slowly but never fully stopping or letting you get near the vehicle.
Random new or empty accounts stalking your social medias.
Random unknown calls that hang up after you pick up or leave silent audio messages.
Text message from VOIP numbers that are specifically trying to talk to you but are being vague and ominous.
Gangstalking will continue so long as you are deeply politically engaged. You need to be willing to endure.
-Social Media Censorship & Suppression:
Social media has a number of hidden and undefined triggers that are different from platform to platform. Some topics or narratives will cause the machine algorithm the company has to start increasingly strike an account until finally it shuts it down completely. After so many of these, it’ll IP ban the person making these accounts.
Content such as:
Covering geopolitical conflicts where you’re painting the rival force in a positive light.
Exposing war crimes.
Blowing the whistle on corrupt activity you specifically know about.
Showing the symbols or positive content of rival groups or governments.
Exposing suppressed information on conflicts or secret operations.
Exposing deep ties of major corporations and politicians within government.
Being overly hostile to Democrat or liberal institutions.
And more. These are just some of the censors I’ve found from my own experience. This isn’t even to account for other circumstances such as targeted suppression like what we saw with Comrade Workwear, who, lost his major social media accounts because he was slandered and attacked by the Governor of NYC and the NYPD for a deck of cards he was selling which directly exposed billionaires and their criminal history/scandals.
I’ve dealt with my own targeted suppression, such as, I’ve been banned on Instagram 3 times, to which my 3rd time ended with an IP ban and I was banned on WhatsApp on the same day. I’ve been banned on YouTube. I’ve been banned on CashApp and Chime, the latter I didn’t even have an account with and only found out later when I tried to make one that they banned my phone number. I’ve been shadowbanned multiple times on my old TikTok and then that account would later be terminated, I’m currently on my second. Linktree marks my Telegram & Rumble links (socials that are uncensored) as “unsafe” which removes them from my page where people can follow my other socials. It’ll only get worse the more outspoken you are unless you play the game smart, which is why I mainly make content on more uncensored platforms like Substack, Rumble & Telegram, and use other major socials to direct traffic to those primary platforms via my webpage. I also routinely save my email list to always be able to reach my fan base, as I’ve lost thousands of followers on both Instagram & TikTok.
-Suspicious “Comrades”:
First thing I want to mention on this point is, fedjacketing / snitchjacketing / badjacketing is NOT helpful for the Left in a majority of occasions. That said, it must be acknowledged that there will be people you cross paths with, either personally, or within an organization, who gives off a suspicious vibe. Not everyone in the Left is a fed, but there is feds in the Left, and they especially target organizations to do one of a few objectives. The main two is to either 1) Make members fight each other based on rumors and invalidating one sides work over the other, and 2) Make rank and file members become distrustful of leadership of an organization and try to rally a faction to challenge leadership to resign. Feds when they infiltrate an organization often do it early into the organizations founding and try to sweeten up to the organization’s leadership, maybe even climbing ranks as a way to further their objective to steal from the group later on, because they know a new organization is the most vulnerable and desperate due to lack of labor and structure. This however can happen with new organizations or well established and old ones.
But what about the feds who try to convince you personally to do something you may ask? Yes, this topic is more specific and personal because someone who may be an undercover isn’t trying to convince and manipulate a larger group, he or she is specifically trying to mess with the head of one specific person or a group of 2-5 people.
Usually, feds trying to convince a single person or small group aren’t trying to cause them to infight with others (at least not primarily), no, they’re trying to entrap them by energizing them into criminal or violent activities. During the Black Lives Matter protests, Zebbodios Hall experienced this entrapment method. He shared his experience in an interview with the YouTuber Ozymandias.
Another method that needs to be shared is an age old tactic. We saw this with famous Marita Lorenz who was recruited by the CIA to assassinate Castro, and instead informed him and slept with him - but these exceptions aren’t common. What I am saying is, feds will use the opposite sex or same sex depending on their target to play on two major weaknesses everyone has, lust & loneliness. Especially when the Left in America today has a lot of people who struggle with approaching potential dates, getting into relationships or are as deeply effected by the loneliness epidemic as anyone else. The random show up of someone that a target finds attractive, and who, almost instantaneously, goes after a specific (often a leader of a group) political activist with flirtatious intention, is relatively suspicious. Another major sign a “comrade” (seeking a relationship with an activist) is an undercover is if they lack a public history, but seem to have a pretty stable or even comfortable lifestyle despite having no data publicly available tied to their name or family tree. This is why the old Vanguard communists use to warn against relationships within the movement, because if not careful, someone could get swayed by an undercover, or the relationship blurs dedications and pulls someone out of the movement entirely if he/she decides they don’t want their partner involved anymore. I’ve seen both of these happen at least a few times. Once the undercover feels they have their target wrapped around their finger, they use them as a way to divide and destroy the organization they belong you, talk them into entrapments, or even take from them and break their heart after where they lost so much that getting out of the financial hole they’re in would take them years - ruling them almost entirely ineffective.
When it comes to relationships and politics, it’s best to avoid it. When dealing with people you organize with, you should keep it professional and avoid relationships within the movement unless you know the comrade on a seriously personal level. Devote to your work, the Left isn’t a personal Tinder. You can have relationships, but it’s best to know the person for a while and personally, or to date outside the movement.
Ultimately, it’s best to always maintain some level of OPSEC & caution with “comrades” you organize with. You have to think about this logically, for most of these people, they’re still strangers. You should of course maintain a balance with a certain level of trust so that you can organize together until you know your own comrades more personally, but unless you’ve known them for over 5 years (the usual contract period for feds), have built a strong personal bond with them, or know them on a local & personal level, you shouldn’t just share everything with them. I’ve had anarchists and communists try to doxx me, I’ve seen and fought with people who acted almost to a T like feds because coming from a low income/high crime neighborhood, and reading the COINTELPRO sabotage manual, I know how they act. Always maintain OPSEC and caution, level a certain amount of trust to organize with others, trust no one completely until you know them personally - and strive to know your closest comrades personally.
-Banned from Payment Processors:
Depending on your influence, narratives, and position in organizations, you will face more than worries of banned social media accounts. Comrade Workwear expressed on his 4th TikTok that banks and payment processors banned all transactions tied to his business selling Left products. I myself have been banned by CashApp and Chime, as I mentioned earlier.
The larger your influence, the more the financial system forces you to look for alternatives. Be this banks outside the host country, crypto transactions and payments, etc. The reality is, the war is not purely influential, its financial, physical, spiritual, etc. To fight capitalism, means to fight on all fronts.
-Hacking Attempts:
Even if your OPSEC is sophisticated, even if you run a tight cyber security system for your personal life, you won’t be excluded from hacking attempts. I’ve had multiple, I know other comrades who’ve had multiple attempts. There exists communities of hackers of different political beliefs who will do anything and everything to target a rival. I’ve had hacking attempts on my accounts, phishing attempts, malicious phone calls and texts that felt too personal to be a run of the mill common scammer. The more popular or higher in leadership you are, the more you will face this attack among many others.
-Assassinations:
Hopefully, you’ll never have to deal with this, but we’ve seen from MLK Jr., Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Marty Rifles (Martin Droll), and many others; that when you become a “trouble maker” for the system, your life loses value in their eyes. The more reach you have, the more authority you have, the more you dare to expose corruption, the more the threat of violence weighs against you if you aren’t careful.
The Sacrifice of Our Organizing:
To align with the politics outside the dominant national ones means to sacrifice, to accept your position on a new path that challenges dominant power dynamics.
This is why Communists like myself have said, and keep saying - you’re in the trenches with us. Many of us took an oath to our class, to our role in this fight, to give everything from our labor to our life for the cause.
The sacrifice is large, but the objective, even if we don’t see it in our lifetime, is worth it.
