News Anchor Slips up, Rikers Island | Hell on Earth:
Yesterday, Ashleigh Banfield did an “interview” outside the prison Luigi Mangione is being held at. The prisoners would answer her by yelling across the yard.
It was mentioned that Luigi’s lawyer challenged the extradition to NYC, which bought them time, but that if he is extradited that he’ll be going to Rikers Island.
For those who don’t know, Rikers is one of the largest and most brutal jails in the US. Specifically, it is often a pre-trial jail for those who are yet to be found guilty of a crime and go to court. Rikers is what I can only refer to as one of the many Hell’s on Earth. Often, those who are wealthy can pay bail and get out of Rikers, but this is clearly not going to be the case for Luigi. Rikers houses the most violent and brutal gang members and guards the US has, and has a history of corruption and death associated with it. There is roughly around 17.8k inmates a year, with around 2k per building (13k in total), new ones coming in and old ones transferring out, or, more likely, dying. There is only one way into Rikers, a single bridge, referred to by inmates as “the bridge of pain.”
Rikers also has a notorious history of neglect, lack of medical, horrible conditions, stabbings and bribery of guards. Media or journalist access to Rikers Island, especially the inside, is incredibly difficult. Those trying to cover the inside must be registered with the federal government, have vehicles that is fully registered and insured, sign a logbook to get inside, and visit only by appointment with the jail. Inside, journalists or media representatives have limited access and are blocked from accessing certain parts of the premises. It has been reported that before journalists leave, that certain facilities or activities are blocked by the jail from being reported.
Half of the prisoners in Rikers are there for non-violent crimes, but most are so institutionalized that they become repeat criminals and return back to Rikers. Prisoners in Rikers spend 23 hours a day locked in their cells where they get no visual of the outside, even the windows in their cells are blurred to not be able to see the halls. The one hour a day outside they get, they’re divided into small cages, separate from others with minimal space to roam around. Rikers, who house many young adults and even teens, are so restrictive that they found the adolescent brain is stunted severely. The average adolescent brain is 10-19, but at Rikers it can be stunted all the way to 25, and can change the wiring of the brain. Prisoners of Rikers lack medical in an extreme way, as it can take hours for an inmate to get seen by a medical specialist; and worse, the jail can approve or deny any inmate from getting medical treatment, which leads to many deaths that take place at Rikers Island.
Journalists aren’t allowed to interview inmates directly even through the cell doors most of the time, the few occasions journalists have caught inmates statements in their reporting from inside are:
“They treat us like animals.”
“I’ve been beaten down, almost killed in this jail.”
“When I first got locked up, I was depressed, I felt like killing myself.”
They’ll Make an Example Out of Him:
Even if, hypothetically, Luigi Mangione isn’t the one who assassinated the CEO, Brian Thompson, that means the establishment and the wealthy will need to acknowledge that one of their own was assassinated and the killer is still missing with little to no evidence to track his whereabouts. That by itself is upsetting for a powerful elite who refuse to be humiliated; even if he didn’t do it, they will use him to make an example of.
I firmly believe, just like how Jeffrey Epstein dared to expose the flight logs and was assassinated for it due to his blackmail of the rich and powerful, that they will assassinate Luigi Mangione while he is deep behind the most maximum security jail in NY. Not because they feel they can’t win the lawsuit and lock him away for life, which it seems they’re struggling with that with a jury, but because they want to send a message to the public to fear them and their capabilities. They’ll either do it exactly like they did Epstein; cut the cameras, pay the guards and send them off - or, they’ll bargain an inmate his freedom if he kills Luigi for them. Since Luigi is from a wealthy family, he will not be liked be default by the inmates as they will want part of his commissary for his safety.
If the wealthy fear copy-cats of more CEO’s or other wealthy being assassinated, making a man a martyr is damn well not the way to stop that - but since when has the wealthy really ever learned from history for their past mistakes? The wanted posters in NY yesterday (Dec. 11th, 2024) will not be a simple verbal expression of frustration, they’ll become an actual demand.
